Make Sure Your Air Conditioner Is Ready For Summer

Now that May long weekend has passed, it is finally time to start thinking about cooled seats, moonroofs and air conditioners. While it may be true that not every car has any one of these features, more often than not, vehicles have air conditioning units. With the weather getting hotter, we don’t want you to be caught without cold air. Sierra X31 Package

For the GMC Sierra, there is a new badge to be seen. Until 2018, the GMC Sierra, like the Chevrolet Silverado, would sport the Z71 badging to indicate the off-road package. When the redesign came in 2019, the Sierra's new looks called for some new verbiage and badging. Unlike the Z71 badge seen on the front grille and beside the sideview mirrors in a Silverado, the X31 package is similar to the F-150's FX4 badge in that it sits at the back quarter of the pickup bed. Instead of lamenting over packages lost, let’s take a look at what we gained.

2022 GMC Terrain

2021 may have just started, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about the new model years. The GMC Terrain is the smallest SUV in GMC’s lineup, but it is not a compact SUV by any means. This 5-passenger SUV boasts seating for 5 with the 2021 model offering 838L of cargo volume behind the second-row seats. While 2022 will mark the 12th model year of the Terrain, it is still in its second generation. So, what’s new in this mid-cycle refresh?

First-Ever AT4

The AT4 trim has rolled out to the rest of the GMC lineup with the Yukon and Canyon being the latest additions. Until 2022, the one hold out was the Terrain. The Terrain AT4 will add some rugged good looks and a front steel skid plate. In this case, rugged good looks mean some blacked-out side view mirrors and wheels.

A More Striking Approach

Being a refresh and not a redesign many things will maintain a similar look to what the Terrain currently looks like, however, some updates will give it a striking new look. A more distinct C-shape headlight, redesigned taillight and grilles will have it turning heads when it is coming and going.

Elevation

The success of the Elevation package on the current Terrain means it will be returning for 2022. Black accents are the hallmark of this trim to give you some subtle good looks. Currently, the Elevation trim is available on both the SLE and SLT trim.

Technology for days

One of the bigger changes may actually be best experienced from inside the vehicle. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto will become standard while also making room for Amazon Alexa. While Denali will get a new driver information display, a new head-up display will be standard on Denali and available on the SLT and AT4 trims.

Safety features are also being added as standard for 2022, and these will include automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, forward collision alert, and front pedestrian detection among other features from the Pro Safety package.

While the new model year will bring four new colours with it, we will just have to wait and see what those are. Until then, explore our lineup of 2021 models, here.

All-New 2021 Buick Envision

Out with the old, in with the new. The 2021 Envision got a redesign that goes deeper than the front facia to deliver an all-new driving experience. From the power under the hood to the ergonomic design of the cabin, the newest Envision is sure to please.

Technical

Forget the 2.5L engine, the new Envision’s 2.0L Turbocharged I-4 offers increased performance with 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The new engine has been matched with a 9-speed automatic transmission that boasts smooth shifting and together offer a quieter ride.

Shifting in the 2021 Buick Envision is a new experience thanks to the Electronic precision shift. Instead of providing a traditional gear shifter, the new design provides a more streamlined design and increased cabin space by using buttons to shift.

2021 Buick Envision Precision Shift

The 2021 Envision’s redesign starts at the ground level with a new platform, one that is shared with the XT4. Although the platforms might be shared, the end goal was not the same for the Buick Envision compared to the Cadillac XT4. The Buick stays true to its nature and uses the new platform to create a ride that does not compromise on comfort. It also doesn’t compromise on noise: using a five-link rear suspension, the 2021 Envision is able to reduce road noise and vibration.

The new look also features some new dimensions including a wheelbase that is almost a bit more than one inch longer and wider while being roughly two inches lower.

Trims:

Preferred: This is where it all begins. Find confidence wherever your day takes you in the form of the 2.0L turbocharged engine and 9-speed automatic transmission. Standard features ensure comfort whether you are driving, sitting shotgun or backseat driving. QuietTuning technology with active noise cancellation lets you focus on what’s happening inside the vehicle while the in-vehicle air ionizer provides clean air. Enjoy convenience features like the hands-free programmable power liftgate with LED logo projection, wireless Carplay, and wireless Android Auto.  The standard 10.2-inch touch screen is easy to navigate and right at your fingertips.

Essence: An enhancement from the Preferred trim, upgrades include an 8-inch driver information centre, memory settings for the driver seat, and heated rear seats.

Avenir: An all-new trim for 2021, the Avenir is the pinnacle of luxury for the Buick Avenir. It features a panoramic moonroof, ventilated (or cooled) front seats, heads-up display, wireless charging, HD surround vision, front park assist and a 10.2-inch infotainment system with navigation.

Standard (Safety) Features

Buick Driver Confidence Plus is standard on all three trim levels and provides added confidence when driving in the form of automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, lane-change alert with side blind zone alert, forward-collision alert, following distance indicator, automatic high beams, and rear cross-traffic alert.

A heated steering wheel and rear seat reminder may not be considered safety features, but for 2021, they are standard.

Technology:

Safety Alert Seat:

Standard across the entire lineup, the safety alert seat uses vibrations in the seat to alert you to potential crashes. If you would prefer the traditional beeps, that can be arranged too.

Adaptive cruise

Easily maintain the speed of traffic with adaptive cruise control. Now activated through the same button used to turn on traditional cruise control, find adaptive cruise control at your fingertips in the Essence and Avenir.

360 Camera

If you like to see everything around you and want to reduce blind spots, you will appreciate the 360 Camera available on the Avenir trim. It provides a bird’s eye view around the vehicle so you can be confident when doing parking lot maneuvers.

Massaging seats

More aptly, massaging seat. An added feature for the Envision in 2021 is the driver massaging seat. Paired with improvements to the lumbar support, the seat is sure to be comfortable whether you are on a road trip or off to get groceries.

Head up display

Find the information that you need where you need it with head-up display. This feature is available on Essence, and standard on the Avenir.
